Speaker:

Since we think can might actually be in the running for quote king of tennis. Oh god if

Speaker:

And I'm not putting you too much on the spot because you knew this question was coming

Speaker:

But if you're king of tennis and you can decide if that's king of the world king of the United States or just king of Atlanta

Speaker:

This is Atlanta's focused right now, but if you are king of tennis at whatever scale you view it

Speaker:

Is there anything you'd change? What would you do?

Speaker:

You know, I would change there's a couple things that I would change I was thinking about that question

Speaker:

It's a great question and one is I would love to see

Speaker:

doubles prioritize more on TV

Speaker:

I think for the reason is most tennis players are doubles players and especially in Atlanta

Speaker:

You're looking at Atlanta. It's Alta and Alta is all about doubles, right?

Speaker:

So you will have some people to play singles, but you are limited in playing singles

Speaker:

With your physical attributes, right?

Speaker:

You get to a certain point like it is more difficult for me to go out at 50 years old and play singles at my level

Speaker:

And be able to move the way that I need to move to do it

Speaker:

But I can do it better on a doubles court

Speaker:

So I think it doubles has been minimized when you look at it television

Speaker:

You know even in college, you know, they don't it's like okay, they play three three lines and it's one point

Speaker:

Right, I I want to see each one count

Speaker:

I want to do that because I think more players it's easier to get out there and it's more enjoyable to get out there

Speaker:

Play doubles sometimes than it singles

Speaker:

It's kind of such an individual sport. I'd love to see I would love to see coaching

Speaker:

more

Speaker:

Integrated into it

Speaker:

Being able to do that being able to help people that way because to me that's the love of the game

Speaker:

You know, I think what I would love to see is I would love to see people appreciate a lot more of what you're doing

Speaker:

With the ankle butters with the younger kids

Speaker:

You know, I think we get out there people think too much about oh, I'm not it. I'm not a tennis pro because

Speaker:

You know cardio tennis is not as it's not teaching

Speaker:

It is it's getting people to to love the game and enjoy if you have a rack in your hand and a ball

Speaker:

I couldn't care less what color it is and you're out there having a good time. You're growing the game

Speaker:

A true tennis professional grows the game and and we share the love of what we do

Speaker:

Right, and that's why I said earlier I go back to it and say there's so many different levels and my

Speaker:

It's advices and what I did as as president for us pta Georgia was I wanted to see how how you maximize your skill set

Speaker:

Right to figure out your path and it was all to me about pathways

Speaker:

Do you you want to go into what you're doing?

Speaker:

Right to where Bobby is running his programs to me as I say the private sector in the country clubs

Speaker:

Right, so you have a certain skill set right my skill set may not transfer to be able to do what you're doing and be as

Speaker:

successful as you are right and other people's might not be able to do what I do

Speaker:

So find that out and try to figure it out. There's so many different pathways. We can go in this business

Speaker:

So for me it's more about it. I would I would change is change how we educate people to get into that pathway

Speaker:

That way we could share more love of the game
