Speaker:

Have a listen and let us know what you think.

Speaker:

Hi, this is Ben Hesley from Bull Shark Sports.

Speaker:

Today's tip is about overheads.

Speaker:

A lot of times when I see players moving about the court trying to hit an overhead, they

Speaker:

had these huge backswinks.

Speaker:

As coaches, we tell you that the overhead is similar to a service motion, but it's

Speaker:

not the same.

Speaker:

When you're moving around the court trying to track this ball that's over your head, you

Speaker:

want to get the racket up in a hitting position as quickly and efficiently as possible.

Speaker:

I always sell players answer the phone.

Speaker:

Now, in today's time, due to the invention of Bluetooth, we don't normally have our phones

Speaker:

up to our ears anymore.

Speaker:

But if you think about my take my racket, as soon as the ball goes up in the air, I'm

Speaker:

going to put my racket right at my ear.

Speaker:

Now we'll put you close to a good position to hit an effective overhead.

Speaker:

Next time you're out there and the ball gets up in the air and you've got to hit an overhead,

Speaker:

just think, answer the phone.

Speaker:

Instead of having a huge backswing like a service motion, you'll take that racket right

Speaker:

into a hitting position.

Speaker:

Hope that helped and have fun out there on the court.

Speaker:

Well, there you have it.
