Speaker:Rob Carver. Have a listen and let us know what you think.
Speaker:Hi, I'm Rob Carver, USPTA Elite Pro, and also author of the book, 366 Days of Tennis,
Speaker:A Tip of Data Improve Your Game. And today's tip is called Setting the Tone.
Speaker:You've seen it in other sports when the victorious team is interviewed.
Speaker:Either the head coach or a star player will say, "We set the tone early. We kept our opponents
Speaker:on their heels." So here's how you set the tone in your next tennis match. When you're at the net,
Speaker:poach the very first point. It's okay if you don't win or lose, just try.
Speaker:How about this? Taking the first, easy second serving, going down the line, or even lobbing
Speaker:the net person. You want to set your patterns to play early and try to get your opponents reacting
Speaker:to you rather than you counter-attacking. So remember, set the tone. Have a great day and hang tough.
Speaker:Well, there you have it. We want to thank RreGeovinate.com for use of the studio and signature tennis for
