Transcript
Hey hey, this is Shaun with the GoTenni! Podcast powered by Signature Tennis.
Speaker:Today's tennis tip comes from Coach Nathan Singleton.
Speaker:Have a listen and let us know what you think.
Speaker:This is Nathan from First Serve University here with some more tactical advice for your next
Speaker:doubles match.
Speaker:It's common in doubles when you hit lobs to be able to hit a certain type of lob, which
Speaker:we call a push lob or a slice lob or flat lob depending on how you're hitting it, where
Speaker:it hits the ground and it doesn't go anywhere.
Speaker:If you want to put your opponent on defense and find more success with your lobs, you want
Speaker:to accelerate your racket more and put top spin on it so that when your lob hits the
Speaker:ground it jumps back towards the fence and gives your opponent less time to be able to
Speaker:either get to the ball or be able to give back a nice lob.
Speaker:In your next match, look to accelerate the racket face so that it has a lot of top spin
Speaker:on the ball so that when it hits the court it runs away from your opponent and if they
Speaker:do get to it, usually they're going to give you a short lob that you or your partner can
Speaker:put away.
Speaker:This is Nathan from FirstServeUniversity.com here to give you tactical advice on how to
Speaker:win more matches.
