Bull Shark Sports: 2024 Winter Session Wednesdays: Tennis Practice & Play Ages 8 – 12

Wednesdays 4:15 – 5:15 pm. January 10th – February 28th. Designed to be a 6-week session. The last 2 weeks of the session are considered Make-Up Weeks for any rained-out or canceled practices. Participation priority will be given to members of Lindmoor Woods Swim & Tennis Club. Focus is on improving skills needed at this age for successful transition to an adult size court. Modified equipment and court spacing is strategically used to give kids a balance of competence and challenge. Progressive teaching methods such as differentiation allows coach to accommodate for varying skill levels. Activities are designed to help each player with their own development of tennis skills. This group maybe be sub-divided into two groups during practices to accommodate differences in levels. The less experienced players will be learning to serve consistently and improve rally skills, particularly with footwork and movement, that allow for rallying for an extended length of time. The more experienced players that can rally at a higher level will be learning tactical play that forces errors from their opponents such as developing an offensive serve, applying pace and spin to shots, and directing the ball to all parts of the court.
