Speaker:

Hi, I'm Rob Carver, author of the book,

Speaker:

366 Days of Tennis, a tip a day to improve your game.

Speaker:

And today I got a great tip that'll make you

Speaker:

a better doubles player.

Speaker:

Recently a player asked me when it was a good time to poach.

Speaker:

And I asked the player, was it good to poach

Speaker:

if the ball's low or is it better to poach

Speaker:

if the ball's high?

Speaker:

She said it's easier to poach if the ball's high.

Speaker:

So I want you to keep this in mind.

Speaker:

If you're inside the service box

Speaker:

and you can get to a volley that's above net height

Speaker:

and you have balance poach, I don't care what the score is,

Speaker:

I don't care how good your partner is at the baseline.

Speaker:

If you can poach, you make things difficult on your opponent.

Speaker:

All right, look for the high ball,

Speaker:

have some balance and go get it.

Speaker:

Have a great day.
