Hey, hey, this is Shaun with the Atlanta Tennis Podcast, powered by GoTennis!, where premium

members can now find all of our tennis tips consolidated in one place at LetsGoTennis.com

Speaker:

forward slash podcast.

Speaker:

Today's tennis tip comes from USPTA certified tennis pro, Rob Carver, about the best place

Speaker:

to stand when your partner is serving.

Speaker:

Have a listen and let us know what you think.

Speaker:

Hi, I'm Rob Carver, author of the book 366 Days of Tennis, a tip of day to improve

Speaker:

your game.

Speaker:

And today, I got a great tip for you.

Speaker:

Recently, a player asked me, "Where was the best place to stand when their partner

Speaker:

served?"

Speaker:

I told him, "Anywhere but the same spot for the next two hours."

Speaker:

There's no absolute best place to stand.

Speaker:

Tennis is a situational sport.

Speaker:

When your opponent is live often, you should stand farther back in the box.

Speaker:

If your opponent drives the majority of the returns, you might want to stand closer in

Speaker:

the box.

Speaker:

Does your opponent always hit the same shot?

Speaker:

Of course not.

Speaker:

So, why would you stand in the same spot for every point?

Speaker:

Try to stand in a different spot and see how many times you can influence your opponent's

Speaker:

returns.

Speaker:

It's also fun if you force an error from your opponent when all you did was stand in a

Speaker:

different position.

Speaker:

Remember, anywhere but the same spot for the next two hours.

Speaker:

Hang tough!

Speaker:

Well, there you have it.
